Selena
She was a musician, singer-performer, and designer who broke down obstacles in the field. She was simultaneously contemporary and traditional, a Mexican American who brought the two worlds together in a distinct method. Similar to how many people mourn a star who has died far too young, her death was premature and destroyed an energizing career. Over the years, the fans became inspired to work even harder to ensure that Selena's successes would not fade away. Selena's shooting death sparked emotions in the Latino community that is likened with Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena was a wildly popular singer among Latinos in North America. But her music was a hit with both the young and the old. Selena was a hot and flamboyant stage performer and was often referred to by the Latina Madonna. Off-stage Selena was an excellent role model since she participated actively in antidrug and AIDS campaigns.
